Borland Data Providers for .NET (BDP.NET) is a database-Independent ADO.NET data provider that defines common interface to provide access to SQL database servers. For each supported server, BDP.NET uses provider as an independent Assembly that implements the common BDP.NET interfaces for processing queries and stored procedures

BDP.NET provider for Oracle can work using Oracle Call Interface (OCI) or SQL*Net directly. The provider supports Oracle 10g, 9i, 8i, and 8.0, including Personal and Lite editions. For OCI access mode the provider requires Oracle software installed on the client side. In the case of working through SQL*Net, only TCP/IP protocol is required.
